Oliver W Gordon emerged as a fusion of my great grandparent's surnames on both sides of my family, along with my maiden name, connecting generations for a better understanding of my ancestors.

​

My mission is simple yet profound: To reunite cherished family artifacts with their rightful owners - the direct descendants.

 

My grandmother had a family bible from her mother and I used to flip through the pages and wonder where the people in pictures came from. Why and when did they leave their homes to come to America? Where did they come from? Why did the choose to settle where they did? All answers I would discover when this treasured family artifact passed to my father and I began the journey for more information.

 

As an amateur genealogist, I have a curiosity to find my roots, family history, and piece together the stories of generations past. But it's not just about documenting names and dates; it's about understanding the lives, passions, and legacies of those who came before me.

As the owner of a Vintage and Antiques business, I often find myself acquiring other families' old letters, photographs, heirlooms, or other significant artifacts. Using online sources, I started to research and return these items, when possible, to descendants. After exhaustively searching (sometimes spanning years), if I cannot locate a direct descendant who is interested, I reach out to local historical societies and donate the items to become part of their collection.

In cases where I identify the rightful heirs, I facilitate the return of these precious artifacts, ensuring they're back where they belong—in the hands of those who will cherish them the most. It's a deeply rewarding process, not just for the families involved but for me as well.
